The department has made its mark in organizing discourse on current, challenging and useful subjects, bringing in scholars from across the globe as well as from the country. It had organized a number of global and national seminars, colloquia, panel discussions, literary, cultural events and conferences. The conference declarations have been taken up seriously by the policy makers and a number of policies have been formed after the reports submitted at different platforms by the SAP.

National Seminar:
Department of Study Abroad Program, Gujarat University issues the call for academic papers in Hindi, English and Gujarati, for the Multidisciplinary National Seminar Two days to be organized on Discourses on Indian Politics: Post-Coalition Era- Technology and Development,  at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, and Gujarat, India on  1st and 2nd April, 2014.


    India is reeling towards the biggest democratic event of the earth with its Parliamentary elections. In this one month saga, largest voters are going to elect a government which is symbolic of the largest democracy in the world.
81 crores voters shall vote in an era which is no more known for two party systems. The Indian politics has entered into an era which is lately characterized with coalition era. The dimensions and equations are changing every minute and parties are on alert.
This is high time that a discourse takes place to judge the nature of Indian democracy and analyse the major discourses on multiparty, coalition, theories and perspectives of coalition and expecting the natural and strange alliances.
The strategic positioning of parties and new emergences on the political canvas have provided altered face to the Indian polity. It has challenged the voters’ psyche and trends.
The conference committee is seeking submissions of papers for oral presentation at the seminar in following categories of sub theme:
  • Discourses: Ancient and Contemporary
  • Trends and Policies of Alliance
  • Political Voices of Parties through agenda
  • Role of Technology
  • Advantage Young Voters
  • New parties
  • Development Theories
  • Issues of Alliances
  • Multi-party and two party politics
All accepted papers will be published in the printed version of the SAP Conference Proceedings (book with ISBN). The best three Papers will be awarded by the conference committee.
