The Linguistic Research Unit of Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata is organizing a three-day Workshop on Computational and Cognitive Linguistics (WCCL) at ISI, Kolkata. It will provide an opportunity to the participants to explore many areas of computational and cognitive linguistics through deliberations of the experts. The experts will focus not only on computational and cognitive linguistics but also on allied areas including Statistics, Mathematics, Psychology, Philosophy, etc. The range of topics may include language corpora generation and processing, manual and machine translation, WordNet design, computer-assisted language teaching, part-of-speech tagging, word sense disambiguation, computational lexicography, digital dialectology, lexicology, translation studies, etc.

Dates               : 19th – 21st March 2014
Time               : 10 AM - 5 PM
Venue             : Auditorium, Platinum Jubilee Building, ISI, Kolkata
Participants   : Maximum 50, drawn from postgraduate students and research scholars of Linguistics, Computer Science, English, Bangla, Statistics, Mathematics, Psychology, and Philosophy, on a first-come-first-served basis.
