Notification for the Post of Project Fellow (one) in the Department of English under the UGC-SAP-DRS-II


Applications are invited on plain paper from eligible candidates for the post of Project Fellow (one) in the Department of English under the UGC-SAP-DRS-II Program on a salary as per UGC guidelines. The thrust area of the Program is “Representing the Region: Literary Discourses, Social Movements and Cultural Forms in Western India, 1960-2000”

The Project Fellow will work under the supervision of the Coordinator/Deputy Coordinator of the SAP-DRS-II program. S/he will be expected to travel to libraries and other research institutions across the country, compile and edit materials, maintain the library and help organize programs related to the project.

The Project Fellow(s) should have passed M.A in English/Gujarati/Marathi/Social Sciences with at least Second Class preferably above 55% and should have a good command over English. Knowledge of Gujarati and or Marathi (spoken and written) is essential. Some awareness of Postcolonial/ Translation theory is desirable. Preference will be given to those candidates who are eligible to register for the  PhD Program offered by the Department of English.

The appointment will be for one year initially and may be renewed subject to satisfactory performance. Due consideration will be given to SC/ST candidates according to UGC guidelines.
